The two most engaging powers of a photograph are to make new things familiar and familiar things new – William Thackerey

Pretty Fly Photography was founded in 2011 by Fiona MacKay and Raj Hunjan with the vision of using our photography to allow the viewer an intimate connection to a moment we witnessed. We aim to capture the essence of a moment or the true spirit of the animals or people we are photographing, to captivate and inspire through our photography. Then to work with our clients to showcase the photography in unique and innovative ways that they can share and enjoy for years to come.

RAJ HUNJAN

RAJ HUNJAN

Raj is an award winning automotive photographer who works around the world supplying images to both magazines, organisations and individuals who commission his work. He is a passionate petrolhead with a background in the motoring press where he has experience as a writer, photographer and editor. Whilst his main focus is often on automotive photography where he regularly works trackside with race teams and supercar owners, he is just as at home on location spending hours in a hide photographing wildlife with Fiona. He has travelled and photographed wildlife throughout East and Southern Africa over the past decade and like Fiona has worked with various conservation charities including the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, supporting them in Uganda with their work with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.  He brings his editorial and design expertise to the post production work and is able to showcase our photography in unique and innovative ways and formats for our clients.

FIONA MACKAY

FIONA MACKAY

Fiona can barely remember a time when she didn’t own a camera, her first experiences with an SLR were back in the days of film long before the digital era. She has a deep and abiding love of the natural world and has spent many years travelling around the world photographing wildlife and wild places, her images captivate and inspire people to connect directly with the wild as it truly exists. Over the years she has become an award winning wildlife photographer who’s work has been exhibited internationally. She has been a shortlisted finalist in the British Wildlife Photography Awards, ZSL Animal Photography Prize, Nature’s Best Wineland Smith Rice International Awards and Golden Orchid awards. Her images have been featured alongside her travel writing for Africa Geographic Magazine and Travel Africa Magazine. She has also worked with several wildlife conservation charities, including the Endangered Wildlife Trust and Giraffe Conservation Foundation. She has produced a range of limited edition fine art prints and supplied images for magazines and charities to raise funds and awareness. Secretly she’s a little bit of a petrolhead too – but don’t tell Raj…
